James Sawyer

James Sawyer was born on Haida Gwaii in 1969, a member of the Skidegate Giidins Clan. Apprenticed under Pat Wesley he has become a master carver and designer. Gold, Silver and copper are mediums used to show case his world class designs in the form of bracelets, earrings, rings and other forms. In addition his traditionally classic designs can be seen in paddles, limited edition prints, and traditional blankets, relief carvings in wood, vests and bentwood boxes.

Currently residing in Massett, BC James is a philanthropist supporting many charities and a traditionalist continuing to live a life of art, design and traditional creation.

Clarence Mills

Gah-ghin-skuss meaning "out of your own land" is the Haida name of Clarence Mills born at Skidegate, Haida Gwaii (formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands) a member of the Eagle Clan of Skidegate British Columbia located on Canada's Northwest Coast . Clarence is the grandson of Jimmy WIlson a hereditary Chief Skedans and his crest is the Split Eagle and Grizzly Bear. Clarence Mills is known globally for his artwork, carvings, jewlery and monumental size totem poles which have taken center stage at many international events.
